After watching the sunset we stayed the night at Dante's Overlook, sleeping in the back of our van and the next morning watched the dawn from the same place. This was the view to the east just before the sun rose.

After spending the day in Death Valley, we drove up into the mountains on the east side to Dante's Overlook where we watched the sunset, had our supper and spent the night. The photo was taken late in the afternoon and looks north. Badwater, the lowest point in North America is just to the left of the photo.
