In Redwoods National Park in Northern California we left Highway 101 briefly, climbing to over 1000 feet on the Bald Hills Road to the Lady Bird Johnson Grove of redwoods. There, in the mist and rain, we hiked a short trail through these awesome trees. We had the parking area and the trail completely to ourselves and the forest was dead quiet - a wonderful experience..
