I find the many Lupine species of Washington difficult to identify, but believe this to be the Elegant Lupine, Lupinus lepidus var. lepidus. It was photographed along the Old Blewett Road on the east side of the Cascades where it puts on quite a show early in the summer (see insets).

When we traveled through Blewett Pass on our Washington-Oregon-California trip recently, we found the wildflowers putting on a great show as they often do there, especially the Lupines, these, we believe, the Elegant Lupines, Lupinus lepidus var. lepidus.

Among the Lupines we photographed in Blewett Pass along the Old Blewett Road, there were a number of plants with nearly white flowers, but they appear to me to be the Elegant Lupine, Lupinus lepidus var. lepidus.

I believe I have the identification correct, but if anyone knows better please contact me. This was photographed in the Leavenworth area of eastern Washington on the east slopes of the Cascades. ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2013/05/orchid-hunting-in-leavenworth-area.html
