Bulbophyllum odontopetalum is a micro-miniature species from New Guinea. It belongs to a genus that includes some of the weirdest flowers in the orchid world. The flowers of this species, which look like a tiny Dracula flower, are only 2 cm and are produced on 3 cm growths, a tiny pseudobulb and single leaf. The flowers spikes are wiry and 4 cm long. This is the last photo in the series of orchid photos, and this one I'm posting for Sasithorn who also grows orchids and who grows a number of different Bulbophyllums.

Cirrhopetalum or Bulbophyllum frostii is from Vietnam and belongs to a group of orchids that have some of the strangest flowers in the whole orchid family. Many of them have a nasty scent as well and are fly-pollinated. This species is supposed to be scented but I am unable to detect a scent when my plant is in bloom.

This small orchid is native to India, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, and grows at higher elevations. The bottle-brush-like appendages are the lips of the individual triangular flowers. It was photographed at the Mount Baker Orchid Society show.
