Our hike last summer in the Colorado Rockies was the best wildflower hike I've been on, though the scenery was the main attraction. These are Mountain Bluebells, Mertensia ciliata, photographed along the Maroon-snowmass trail west of Aspen.

These masses of Mountain Bluebells were photographed near Trailrider Pass in the Colorado Rockies while backpacking there last summer.

Better known as the Tall Fringed Bluebell, Mertensia ciliata, this lovely wildflower is also sometimes called Languid Lady. This example was photographed on northeast side of Yellowstone National Park in Dunraven Pass.
