These rose hips were photographed early in the winter before the frost destroyed their color and shape. The insets show them later in the winter.

Photographed in early December these rose hips were starting to shrivel and turn brown.

Loved the way the hoarfrost on these rose hips mimicked the rose thorns. The roses are a native rose and very beautiful when they are in bloom.

These were photographed in the natural area of Manito City Park where a lot of native plants and wildflowers can be found. They are the hips of one of the native roses photographed after being nipped by frost and on one of our recent visits.
