There's a story to go with this photo. We were hiking the Hidden Lake trail at Logan Pass in Glacier National Park, when we saw several mountain goats, a female and her kid, near the trail. We photographed them, but they moved off through the trees. Suddenly reappeared behind us, crossing the trail. I was at the back of the group and had stopped to get another photo when the female turned toward me, just as I took this photo. I do not know if she was threatening me, but I beat a hasty retreat, as did some of the others.

Mountain goats photographed along the Hidden Lake trail in Glacier National Park, Montana. We had to dodge them in several cases, since there were quite a few of them and they were moving across the trail and around the area and can be dangerous.

This is a Mountain Goat kid photographed in Jasper National Park in 2014. A flock of goats was feeding along the road and we were able to get some photos of them. The other photo is of some young Bighorn Sheep, also photographed in Jasper.

The photos I'm posting today are a bit of a miscellany. This Mountain Goat was photographed in Jasper National Park in Alberta on a 2014 trip through Kootenay, Banff, Jasper and Robson.

This baby Mountain Goat was photographed in Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada along the Icefields Parkway. We have a daughter and family in Edmonton and are often up that way and seldom travel there without seeing an abundance of wildlife.

We've been traveling the past week through the Canadian Rockies, camping, hiking and sightseeing. We've been through Kootenay, Banff and Jasper National Parks and Mount Robson Provincial Park and are now for a while in Edmonton visiting children and grandchildren. We saw a group of these Mountain Goats in Jasper two days ago and stopped for pictures.

In a few days we are headed for British Columbia and Alberta. We are going to see our son-in-law and daughter and new granddaughter Kaillyn who was born a couple of weeks ago. We are also going to take our vacation while there, a week's backpacking trip in Mount Robson Provincial Park. These pictures were taken in Jasper National Park last summer while on a backpacking trip.
