No, the colors are not changing here yet. This was taken last October in Wallace Falls State Park while we were hiking there. The yellow leaf is the leaf of one of our native hardwoods, the Bigleaf Maple, Acer macrophyllum and the spots are caused by a fungus very common on the leaves of these trees, the Tar Spot Fungus, Rhytisma punctatum.

Last autumn we hiked in Wallace Falls State Park and saw more mushrooms and fungi than we had ever seen before, many of them very beautiful. If I am not mistaken, this is Russula bicolor, an edible species.
