Lepanthes is a genus of mostly small orchids from Central and South America, all of which have very tiny but very colorful and intricate flowers. This species, however, is desirable for its beautiful foliage, but is very tiny with leaves three centimeters in diameter and flowers that are less than one centimeter in size. It is from Colombia and Ecuador.

Lepanthes calodictyon is another tiny orchid with 1 inch leaves (3 cm). It is from Colombia and Ecuador and is grown for the beautifully patterned leaves, though the tiny quarter inch (8 mm) flowers are beautiful also.
