RHH's photos with the keyword: shuksan arm

Mount Shuksan is one of the dominant peaks in the North Cascades and Shuksan Arm is the ridge reaching from the peak into the left side of the photo. The Arm is a popular place for off-piste skiing and is accessible from the Mount Baker Ski Area via a long uphill trudge. The photo was taken on our recent evening snowshoe excursion to Artist's Point.

Taken on a 2015 snowshoeing excursion to Artist's Point, this shows Mount Shuksan from the area above Austin Pass on a day when a lot of new snow had fallen.

This was taken looking down from Artist's Point into the valley between Mount Shuksan and Kulshan Ridge. We've hiked this valley in the summer to an alpine lake, Lake Ann, but would like to do the same hike on snowshoes. .

This is an area we hike in the summer. The trail to Lake Ann starts near here and goes down into the valley below. The slope in the background is Shuksan Arm, a high ridge that runs west from Mount Shuksan.

Taken on a 2008 overnight backpacking trip to Lake Ann, this was an evening shot taken from our camp on the east side of the lake where we watched the changing light of the sunset on the south faces of Mount Shuksan. This actually shows a part of Shuksan Arm, a steep ridge that runs west from the peak itself.
