Masdevallia sotoana is a tiny orchid species from Ecuador. The plant is only 4cm tall and the tubular part of the flowers only 1cm long. The flower is lined with glandular hairs but I do not know what the function of the hairs is. There are more photos of these unusual flowers at the blog post below.
