This is one of the Coral Fungi, probably the Crested Coral Fungus, Clavulina cristata, photographed along the Thunder Creek trail while backpacking there with our oldest daughter.

This was photographed in the Gaiser Conservatory at Manito City Park in Spokane. Coelogyne cristata is native to the Himalayas and southeast Asia and has a wide range from Nepal and Bhutan to Java. It is a small orchid and blooms profusely in the early spring.
