This was taken at Beebe Spring Natural Area near Chelan Falls, Washington. Beebe Springs is an area along the Columbia River where native Americans used to dig Camas bulbs. This and several other statues of women digging bulbs are among the features of area, though it is also a good place for bird-watching and wildflowers. We were in the area in August on Native Orchid Society excursion, but the area was very smoky from the wildfires burning in the area. My apologies for the delay in responding to comments. We are traveling to eastern Washington (sitting in a coffee shop now) and spent most of the day hiking in the North Cascades. We hiked the Heather and Maple Pass loop off the North Cascades Highway, 8.5 miles and 2000 feet of elevation gain, but a fabulous sunny day with lots of autumn color, though the larches were only just beginning to change.

One of the places we stopped on our way to Spokane, was at Beebe Springs Natural Area along the Columbia River. This an area where native tribes once dug Camas bulbs (shown below). There are sculptures there by the native artist, Smoker Marchand, this of an Indian on horseback and others of women digging Camas bulbs.
