Hiking In Mount Robson Provincial Park we had come 8 km from our previous nights campground at Whitehorn when this photo was taken. We had left Emperor Hill and Emperor Falls behind and were following the Robson River towards the scree slope in the distance (the insets are all taken from that slope) where the trail is just visible. Only the lower slopes of Mount Robson are visible on the far right, but Rearguard Mountain and Mist Glacier are coming into view, a reminder of the progress we were making toward our destination, still 5 km further on across the Robson River floodplain and around Berg Lake.

This was taken on a 2010 five-day backpacking trip in the Canadian Rockies up to and around the area of Berg Lake. The mountain to the left is Rearguard Mountain, the end of Robson Glacier is visible at the bottom of the picture, Berg Lake and our camp are around the corner of Rearguard to the left and the peaks across the valley (if I am not mistaken) are Gendarme Mountain, Mount Anne-Alice, and Mount Philips (right to left). When this picture was taken we were hiking a glacial moraine above Robson Glacier to the tundra above the glacier and from there to Snowbird Pass.
