Carrowmore is a large complex of megalithic tombs near Sligo Town. This is a dolmen, one of the many tombs to be found there.

This is the entrance to the restored neolithic tomb at Newgrange, Co. Meath. At sunrise on the winter solstice, the rising sun shines for a few moment through the hole above the doorway into the heart of the tomb. The white stone on the facade of the tomb also catches the sunlight and makes the front of the tomb visible for miles.
