Taken in Upper Antelope Canyon, which we toured with a Navaho guide, this photo is from the canyon but near the exit. Antelope Canyon is near Page, Arizona, and can be visited only as part of a tour, since it is on the territory of the Navaho Nation.

Monument Valley on the Utah and Arizona border is full of unusual and beautiful formations, but one of the most striking is Camel Butte, shown here, near the beginning of the 27 mile loop through this tribal park.

Monument Valley is on the Arizona and Utah border. It is part of the Navaho Nation and is worth the fee to drive the 27 mile loop through the valley. Shown is the entrance road into the park.

Just visible in the arch across Laguna Canyon are the ruins of the Betatakin Cliff Dwelling, one of three dwellings in the canyon, last inhabited about A.D. 1300. There are ranger-led tours in better weather that descend into the canyon and bring one closer to the ruins, but the trail was covered with snow and ice when we were there and the tours were not available.

Upper Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon near Page, Arizona, that is on the Navaho reservation. Touring the canyon requires an entrance fee and a Navaho guide, both of which we booked as we travelled through the area on our way to southern California. The tour, though expensive, was worthwhile and we were able to get some decent photos.

We were traveling from Utah to southern California and decided to visit Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona. It is in the Navaho reservation and can be visit only with a Navaho guide and as part of a tour. It is also quite expensive but we found it worth the cost. Photos in the canyon were difficult but we did get a few decent ones, this one of them.
