Often called an Antelope, the Pronghorn is no relation of the Old World Antelopes and its closest relatives are Giraffes and Okapis. The Pronghorn is a common sight in the west and this one was photographed near the north entrance to Yellowstone which brings us full circle (counterclockwise) around the upper loop of Yellowstone's main road and back out the north entrance.

The north entrance road into Yellowstone National Park follows the Gardiner River as it climbs from the town of Gardiner into the park. We've come on our tour of Yellowstone back to the north entrance, making a complete loop, counterclockwise through the north part of the park.

This is the sign at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The entrance is near the town of Gardiner, Montana, but one quickly crosses into Wyoming along the five-mile road from the entrance to the main park road.
