This is another view of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone taken from Artist's Point on the south rim of the canyon and looking east.

This is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone from the Red Rock Point trail. This is the canyon through which the Yellowstone River runs and from which the park gets its name. The photo was taken in the morning as the sun began to send its light into the canyon.

This is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone looking west toward to the Lower Falls and taken late in the day from Artist's Point on the south side of the canyon. The Yellowstone River is one of many rivers in this huge park, but the canyon and the falls are some of the best known areas of the park.

We were in Yellowstone briefly this summer and made it to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone late in the day as a storm was gathering. Not entirely satisfied with the photo, which was taken from Artist's Point on the south rim of the canyon, but this was the best I could do with the light and the angle. The river is the Yellowstone River, and the falls are the Lower Falls with another falls around the bend above.
