RHH's photos with the keyword: firehole falls

One of the beautiful drives on the west side of Yellowstone National Park is the Firehole River Drive and the highlight of the drive is the falls, pictured here.

Firehole Falls is just south of Madison Junction on the west side of Yellowstone National Park where the Firehole River flows through a canyon. There is a one-way road that follows the river through the canyon and we walked down from the road to take this photo and one of the insets. The other is of the Firehole River above the falls where it is much quieter as it flows through some of the main geyser basins.

These falls are on the Firehole River just south of Madison Junction and they drop about 40 feet. They are visible from a side road, the Firehole River Road, a very scenic drive. The photo is an old scanned slide from 1979.
