In Explore March 24, 2012, #308. This was taken last spring in the area of Ellensburg, Washington. We were traveling east on Interstate 90 when my wife spotted these three White Pelicans along the highway. We were able to get off at the exit and walk toward the pond, though as we did so they took flight. We did, however, manage to get some pictures before they were gone. I understand that a group of Pelicans is correctly called a "pod."
