This was Mount Rainier last summer when we were there on a family holiday. We all hiked together to Myrtle Falls, when this photo was taken.

This is the last photo from Mount Rainier National Park, a photo of a common wildflower, Polygonum bistortoides, the Western Bistort, photographed at Paradise.

The Tatoosh Range is south of Rainier and this photo was taken looking south from Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park. It is one of the last pictures I'll be posting from that park (one more this evening).

Myrtle Falls is along one of the trails at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park. I posted another a picture of the falls recently. This photo shows the top of the falls.

This, too, was taken along the trails at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park, but it is very typical of our northwestern forests.

Taken from one of the Meadows at Paradise in the National Park, this shows both the mountain and the amazing wildflower meadows. I have only a few more pictures to post from Rainier, so if you are tired of them, bear with me for just a bit.

The visitors' center at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park is a very busy area during the summer and so are the trails near the visitor's center. We tried to avoid the crowds, but I did want a photo of the John Muir quote on the steps. By the time the crowds had thinned a bit, however, the day had become overcast and this was the best photo I could get.

This is the view of Mount Rainier from the visitors' center at Paradise, the highest point on the Mount Rainier Highway (6400 ft, 1600 m). It is well-named not only for its breathtaking views but for its amazing wildflower meadows. It is also a popular winter sport area and a start-off point for climbing the peak.
