This was the view from Scout's Overlook when we hiked part of the West Rim trail last spring in Zion National Park. Both photos were taken with my phone because I forgot to change the battery in my camera and it expired along the hike.

Taken on a hike to Scout's Overlook in Zion National Park, the trail is visible on the right and the Virgin River and Great White Throne are also visible - the photo looks north up the canyon.

This was taken in Zion National Park from the West Rim trail as we hiked to Scout's Overlook.

On our recent trip we were only in Zion National Park for a couple of days and found it much too busy for our liking. One of the hikes we did there was to Scout's Overlook, from which one can hike to Angel's Landing, the outcrop visible in this photo. We did not hike out to Angel's Landing but did enjoy the hike to the overlook, that trail also quite steep with many switchbacks.

We did not spend much time in Zion National Park on our recent trip, only a day. That day was well spent hiking to Scout's Overlook, the trail to which is also the trail to Angel's Landing. The trail is about three and a half miles round trip but is very steep with over a thousand feet of elevation gained.

When in Zion National Park a few years ago we hiked first up the short Weeping Rock Trail to see Weeping Rock but also for the view of the canyon.
