This building in the ghost town of Scenic, South Dakota, has half a sign for a church and another sign for the Merrill Museum of Natural History, neither of which appeared to mark something still in operation. We visited Scenic several times on our way to the Badlands of South Dakota. The two lies between Rapid City and the park.

The sign on this building, which appeared to be derelict, says Sam 2 Bulls Gallery. We were in the town of Scenic in April when the cold winds were still blowing across the prairies. Perhaps the town of Scenic comes alive during tourist season but it appeared to be a ghost town to us.

Scenic, South Dakota, is a ghost town just to the southwest of Badlands National Park. We've been through the town several times on trips to the midwest.
