RHH's photos with the keyword: multnomah falls

After doing some hiking on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge we crossed at Bridge of the Gods to the Oregon side intending to visit the waterfalls along Old Highway 30, a very scenic area of the gorge. We found, however, that part of the highway was still closed as a result of the 2017 wildfires there, and that what was open was very busy. We ended up visiting only two of the waterfalls and then driving on to the Oregon coast. Multnomah Falls is 620 ft (189 m) in height, the highest falls in Oregon. It is one of the most visited areas in the USA and worth a visit in spite of the number of tourists. The bridge visible in the photo can be reached by a footpath that continues up to the top of the falls, but that part of the path was closed when we visited.
