In Explore August 23, 2011, #477. Neofinetia falcata is a well known miniature orchid, both because of its lovely long-spurred flowers and because of its beautiful Vanilla-like fragrance. Native to Japan, it is an orchid that has been extensively interbred by the Japanese, producing many unusual (and often expensive) varieties. This variety is typical in size and leaff shape but is known for its variegated foliage, green with creamy yellow margins, not visible here, but obvious in some of the other photos on my blog. orchidsinbloom-ron.blogspot.com/2011/08/neofinetia-falcat...

Neofinetia falcata is a small orchid species that has been extensively bred by the Japanese with many resulting different horticultural varieties. Though it is available in many color forms, the original species has white flowers. This clone, though it has the white flowers, is named for its variegated foliage. One of the species' most attractive features, though, is its strong and sweet fragrance. It is native to Japan, Korea and the Ryukyu Islands and is sometimes called the "Samurai Orchid." orchidsinbloom-ron.blogspot.com/2011/08/neofinetia-falcat...

Neofinetia falcata is from Japan and an orchid that comes in many different forms. It is known as Fukiran in Japan. This plant is four inches tall with two and half inch flowers that are very fragrant. I took the photo, but the plant is Edward's. orchidsinbloom-ron.blogspot.com/2012/10/neofinetia-falcat...
