I promise I won't post too many more photos from the Hoh Rainforest. This one is of a Big-leaf Maple almost entirely covered with moss.

Taken in Lake Padden Park on a spring hike, these are the emerging flowers of one of our distinctive native trees, the Big-leaf Maple, Acer macrophyllum.

This is one of the trails I hiked last week in the Leavenworth area of eastern Washington. The Chiwaukum Creek trail follows the creek of that name and the first part of the trail follows an old forest service road that is no longer open to vehicles as is obvious from this shot.
