Our favorite hike in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park was the hike to and through Lost Canyon. There was water in the canyon, a rarity in the area and the hike along that part of the canyon was cool and refreshing. We are home again after driving through the night and all morning yesterday, a drive of over 1000 miles (1700 km) from Colorado. The last few weeks we put over 5000 miles on our car, but were able to see many family members.

We looked for Ladies' Tresses Orchids along this stream at Brooks Memorial State Park but did not find any. We found a lot of other wildflowers, however, and could see Mount Hood in Oregon from the area where this stream was flowing.

It had rained hard the night before and everything was wet and running with water when I hiked the Park Butte trail. This was just one of many small streams that resulted from the rain. There is snow up there now, over ten feet at Artist's Point and I'm hoping to go snowshoeing tomorrow.

We followed this stream across the tundra to Snowbird Pass and the icefields that lie beyond the pass.

It was hard to stop taking pictures of Mount Robson the day the weather cleared. This picture is taken from Berg Camp at the north end of Berg Lake which can just be seen along with some of the icebergs floating on the lake.
