While attending a conference in Shropshire, we went on an arranged tour to the city of Chester where we walked the walls, had a guided tour, led by a man dressed as a 16th Century Shropshire archer and spent a pleasant though rainy day.

The first evening we were in Bayeux (from our guest house in Le Molay-Littry) we watched the light and music show at Bayeux Cathedral. We did not know about the show, but were passing the cathedral on our way to our vehicle when it was starting and stayed to see it all.

After wandering around Bayeux and finding a place for our evening meal, we headed for our car, only to find a light show starting at the cathedral.

The light show began with colored lights inside and on the outside of the cathedral but finished with lights in the area around the cathedral that threw moving patterns on the exterior.

We visited Bayeux twice for meals and sight-seeing. Most of our time was spent in the area of the cathedral and the evening when this photo was taken we saw a light show at the cathedral. The cathedral was dedicated in 1077 though parts of it were rebuilt in the 12th century and parts were not finished until the 19th century.

Here is another photo from our summer backpacking trip in the Colorado Rockies, this is of Cathedral Lake near which we camped, and of Cathedral Peak. To the right of the photo is Electric Pass to which we hiked later in the day.

Cathedral Peak is in the Colorado Rockies west of Aspen and was our destination last summer when we backpacked in the Rockies.
