Also known as Tweedy's Lewisia, this rare and beautiful wildflower was photographed west of Leavenworth in Steven's Pass, Washington.

Here's another picture of one of Washington's most beautiful wildflowers. We found these growing on rock ledges in Steven's Pass near Leavenworth in the detritus and moss that had collected there, where a misstep would have scraped them off the rock. We were on our way home from a field trip with the Washington Native Orchid Society when we found these.
