Both of these related species are from New Guinea. Mediocalcar versteegii is a larger plant than Mediocalcar decoratum, the species shown below, but it, too, is only a few inches tall and its flowers are only about 1/4th of an inch (6 mm). Neither species is fragrant that I can detect.

In Explore October7, 2010, #490. This is a small orchid from New Guinea, Mediocalcar versteegii. These flowers are less than 1 cm in size, but this and the other species in the genus are very beautifully and brightly colored.
