When I hiked the Chain Lakes trail near Mount Baker with one of my sons the early wildflowers were starting to open including these Glacier Lilies.

On October 22, my wife and I, after watching the sunrise from Artist's Point in the North Cascades, ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2010/10/artists-poi... , went back down the Mount Baker Highway to the ski area and hiked from there around Bagley Lakes and up the Galena-Chain Lakes Trail to see some of the autumn color which was awesome this year. We had chosen a beautiful day and the reds of the wild blueberries and the yellows of the Mountain Ash were stunning in the sunshine. These are some of the blueberries, which had already been touched by frost and though they looked nice were soft and not very good, and when touched fell off the bushes.
