The morning we went fossil hunting it looked to be a good day, but the clouds came in and the sunshine disappeared though we were spared any rain, a real blessing on the clayey slopes of Slide Mountain. This view looks north over the valley to the mountains of the Canadian Coastal Range.

Our daughter and son-in-law and granddaughter have been visiting us over the holidays. We've gone with them to the Seattle Aquarium and Pike Street Market, went skiing today at Mount Baker and yesterday went target shooting on Sumas Mountain. The day was one of the first good days we've had in a while and this was taken near the end of the day from Sumas Mountain looking north across the Fraser Valley to the Canadian Coastal Range.
