Taken near Moose Pass on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, these are the Kenai Mountains north of Seward.

These are the Kenai Mountains north of Seward, Alaska. The photo is from a 2015 trip to Alaska.

Taken near the junction of the Seward Highway and the Portage Valley Highway in the area of the old town of Portage which was almost entirely destroyed by the 1964 earthquake. At that time the area sank six feet putting most of it below sea level and it is now wetlands near the upper end of Turnagain Arm.

Taken north of Seward as we traveled the Seward Highway down the Kenai Peninsula to spend a few days in Seward and in Kenai Fjords National Park.

We saw a lot of these in Alaska. They are the Woolly Geranium, Geranium erianthum. The photo was taken along the Seward Highway near Summit Lakes. If you look closely there is an Aphid or small insect at the base of the column of the first flower.

The Western Red Columbine, Aquilegia formosa, is a common wildflower, but no less beautiful for that. These were photographed along the Seward Highway near Summit Lakes.
