Photographed near Lake Elizabeth in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in the area of Skykomish, Washington. Keys to the identification of this species are the inflated spur and yellowish lip. This was published in the April, 2011, issue of Orchids, the magazine of the American Orchid Society, in an article titled "Taking Aim."

In Explore August 17, 2009, #437. Photographed on the Klahane Ridge Switchback Trail near Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. The following photo shows the foliage of this small but attractive orchid, which grows under forest cover on well-drained slopes. This was published in the April, 2011, issue of Orchids, the magazine of the American Orchid Society, in an article titled "Taking Aim."

This orchid was photographed in Olympic National Park at East Beach on Crescent Lake. It was one of the last native orchids to bloom during the summer.
