These cascades were on the river that the Harding Icefields trail follows at its lower end, perhaps a branch of the Resurrection River. The Harding Icefields trail is in the Exit Glacier area of Kenia Fjords National Park in Alaska.

When in Alaska we hiked the Harding Icefields trail near Exit Glacier. The lower end of the trail follows this river, but I could not find its name.

This was photographed along the Harding Icefields trail in Kenai Fjords National Park. We saw more wildflowers here than anywhere else on our Alaska trip, especially along the part of the trail that goes through Marmot Meadows. The Wood Violet is a common North American and European species.

I am not at all certain of the ID on this butterfly. I have it as a Western White but stand to be corrected. It was photographed along the Harding Icefields trail in Keni Fjords National Park.

Photographed along the Harding Icefields trail in the Exit Glacier area of Kenai Fjords National Park, these willow catkins were still fresh at higher elevations. Fizgig has identified these as Salix bebbiana, Bebb's Willow.

We found this beautiful wildflower along the Harding Icefields trail in the Exit Glacier area of Kenai Fjords National Park. There were many of them at the higher elevations to which we hiked and, in fact, this trail was almost the only place on our Alaska trip that we saw an abundance of wildflowers.
