Our daughter and son-in-law and granddaughter have been visiting us over the holidays. We've gone with them to the Seattle Aquarium and Pike Street Market, went skiing today at Mount Baker and yesterday went target shooting on Sumas Mountain. The day was one of the first good days we've had in a while and this was the sunset we stopped to photograph on the way home. The photo is completely untouched and is just as it came from the camera.

These falls are on a creek, Racehorse Creek, that drains into the North Fork of the Nooksack River. The falls are named for a small cave in the falls that looks from a distance like a horse's head. It is not visible in this picture. ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2010/09/nooksack-fa...

While my brother was here a few weeks ago we got out one afternoon for a little while in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in the area of Nooksack Falls. It was a miserable day, raining and snowing in turn, but we did manage some pictures of the falls and of the river.
