Douglas is a small unincorporated community in eastern Washington along Highway 2 near the Columbia River. It has a general store, a church and a few houses, but if you blink you'll miss it. It is actually part of the town of Waterville, but even that town has a population of only 1000 people. The last time we were through that area we stopped to take a few pictures.

Perhaps this should have had the title, "The State of Public Education in America." In any case, it was taken on our recent trip home from eastern Washington. The schoolhouse is just off State Highway 2 on the Columbia Plateau between Coulee City and Waterville.
