This view is from Fort Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island while we were there last spring on a camping trip with a group of young people. Fort Ebey is one of a number of coastal forts on Puget Sound built in the late 1800's and during World War II that are now State Parks. During our camping trip we not only camped in Fort Ebey State Park but visited Forts Casey and Fort Worden, the latter across the Sound. ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2011/07/fort-ebey-f...

Fort Worden is one of the coastal forts on Puget Sound built during the late 1800's. It is near Port Townsend on the west side of the Sound on the Olympic Peninsula. This photo was taken at Battery Kinzie, a part of the fort that is down on the beach at Point Wilson. The battery is a great place for picture taking, since it has been left to the elements for the most part and is also not completely underground like Fort Ebey. For more information on these forts and other pictures see: ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2011/07/fort-ebey-f...

These flowers were photographed on a tree in Fort Canning Park, Singapore. Morabeza79 has correctly identified them as Bauhinia kockiana, the Red Trailing Bauhinia. Thanks!
