Dresslerella caesariata belongs to a small genus of orchids native to the new world. As can be seen in the photo, every part of the plant including the flower, is hairy. These flowers are about 3 cm and bloom one after another at the juncture of leaf and stem. The leaves are pendant and about 15 cm long. This species is from Ecuador.

I grow a lot of strange orchids, but this may very well be the strangest of all. The whole plant is covered with hairs, stems, leaves, and flowers, and the odd shape and color of the flowers only adds to the weirdness. The leaves are five inches long and the flowers a little less than an inch. It is from Ecuador and belongs to the Pleurothalidinae.
