One of our favorite spring wildflowers, this too was photographed in Washington Park, though on a different and better day. It is a small plant that blooms on the cliffs overlooking Puget Sound.

Another spring wildflower photographed in Washington Park on Fidalgo Island. Sea Blush is Plectritis congesta, a plant in the Valerian family. The first to bloom in the spring are only inches tall, but later in the spring they are considerably larger.

Another picture of a wildflower from Washington Park. Sea Blush, Plectritis congesta, is well-named since it grows in coastal areas here in the Pacific Northwest.
