When in Zion National Park last spring we explored some of the Kolob Canyon area of the park and hiked the Taylor Creek trail through a very narrow canyon to Double Arch Alcove and to a waterfall. This was the canyon in an area where the trail was above the creek, but most of the trail followed the bank of the creek with many crossings.

When in Zion National Park this past spring we spent a day in the Kolob Canyon area of the park and hiked the Taylor Creek trail to Double Arch Alcove and to a waterfall. The trail follows a very narrow canyon and the creek must be crossed around fifty times each way, This photo shows my wife at one of the creek crossings.

We hiked the Taylor Creek trail in the northwest corner of Zion National Park recently. We crossed the creek over 100 times and following the creek reached this unnamed but beautiful waterfall. The hike was about four and half miles total with little elevation gain. This part of Zion is near Cedar City, Utah, where we stayed the weekend before meeting our oldest daughter and hiking in Canyonlands and Arches National Parks.

On our recent trip to Utah we visited a part of Zion National Park we had not seen before. Kolob Canyons is in the northwest corner of the park near Cedar City and accessible from that area and not from the more popular part of Zion. We hiked the Taylor Creek trail, a four and half mile trail with little elevation gain. The trail follows Taylor Creek to a waterfall (see inset) and crosses the creek almost a hundred times.
