While in northern California we chose a foggy and dull day and drove south along the Redwoods Highway to the area of Klamath and then followed the coastal drive back north. Late in the afternoon the fog finally began to lift and this photo was taken then and near the mouth of Klamath River.

This was taken along the coastal drive south of the Klamath River in California on a foggy day that did not clear until late afternoon.

While staying in Crescent City, California, we drove south on a dull and foggy day to the area of Klamath where we explored the coast from the Coastal Road. This photo was taken at an overlook where we had our lunch.

One the days we were in northern California we drove south to Klamath and then back north on the Coastal Road. We found a sign along the road directing us to this World War II building. Disguised as a farmhouse it was actually a radar installation built to watch for a possible invasion of the coast. We hiked from the road down to the buildings (there were several), but all of them were boarded up.
