RHH's photos with the keyword: combine

When we traveled through eastern Washington in August they were combining and most of the fields were already finished, but we found this field where they were still working and stopped to take pictures. This was also the end of his last run and he already has his boom extended to unload into the waiting trucks.

Different groups of animals are described by "terms of venery," which are collective nouns, many of them very old. Some of the terms are very familiar, such as "school of fish," or "colony of ants," or "pride of lions." Others are unknown such as "murder of crows," "exaltation of larks," or "skulk of foxes." Since we have such words for animals, why not for other things as well, such as combines?
