Fort Worden

Fort Worden is one of the coastal forts on Puget Sound built during the late 1800's. It is near Port Townsend on the west side of the Sound on the Olympic Peninsula.
This photo was taken at Battery Kinzie, a part of the fort that is down on the beach at Point Wilson. The battery is a great place for picture taking, since it has been left to the elements for the most part and is also not completely underground like Fort Ebey.

This photo was taken at the end of a day trip to Olympic National Park. We were on the ferry leaving Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula for Coupeville and home. The mountains are the Olympics and the buildings are the power plant just south of Port Townsend.
