RHH's photos with the keyword: mountain ash

This was the first part of the trail I took up the shoulder of Herman Peak before the trail dropped down again behind Herman Peak and Table Mountain to the Chain Lakes. The red bushes are blueberries, the yellow grasses are sedges, the orange bushes at the top of the photo are mountain ash. The blue of the blueberries can even be seen on the bushes at the right.

Usually the Sitka Mountain Ash are orange and red in autumn, but this one was a brilliant yellow which stood out vividly against the red of the blueberries. I stopped for this photo while hiking the Galena-Chain Lakes trail near Iceberg Lake.
