Church of Saint John the Baptist

This is the interior of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Chester. It was built in the 11th Century amid the remains of an older 7th Century church and rebuilt in the 1800's. It was originally Chester's cathedral but was replaced as the cathedral by Chester Abbey.

This church window, dedicated on the 25th anniversary of the D-Day landings, commemorates the liberation of the town of Ste. Mere Eglise by troops of 505th Regiment of the 82nd Airborne, who held the town until troops from Utah Beach joined up with them. When the window was dedicated many of the troops who liberated the town were there for the dedication.

This church window was dedicated on June 6, 1969, the 25th anniversary of the D-Day landings. It commemorates the liberation of Ste. Mere Eglise by the troops of the505th Division of 82nd Airborne, many of the troops present for the commemoration.

Bayeux Cathedral

The second time we visited Bayeux we were earlier and were able to see the inside of the cathedral and take some photos.

Haworthia cymbiformis cuspidata

This was photographed at the Devonian Botanic Gardens in Devon, Alberta, Canada and was identified there as Haworthia resendeana, but does not seem to fit the description of that species. Identified or not, the colors and forms of these succulents fascinate me. Thanks, Succulentisima, for the correct id.
