This reminds me of photos I've seen of the Orthodox church ruins in Russia.

Update 10/11/2019: This is the first of three hamburger graffiti I've seen in town. All have three letters at the top and a number in the French fries and the Coke. Then, a statement at the bottom.

Whatever that means...it's a clever statement!
Possible translation of the lower graffiti "SBD ON BNSF": South by day on the BNSF train. "15" might refer to the day or year. I have seen graffiti by "Salty" elsewhere in town. This building is very close to the RR tracks.

Summers school, abandoned

This was a school in the 1920s or 30s, then a new one was built closer to town. At the time, this would have been the "country school" for farm kids. Later it was used as school district offices and storage, but has been abandoned for many years. There are still a lot of maintenance and office supplies inside, moldering away. I suppose it will be torn down at some point, but I wish the owner (probably the county) would leave it alone or restore it. As everywhere else - no money for that.

It was interesting to see how this corner was constructed, hollow, with several layers of bricks. There were no pipes or wires inside it, so would that be for added strength? It's a shame to see a nice old building like this crumble away, but there are so many like it...
