➽ The Dorint Hotel Tower is the most famous skyscraper in Augsburg. The building is the tallest building in the Augsburg area and one of the ten tallest buildings in Bavaria. The 115 m (with antenna 158 m) high tower located in the district Antonsviertel, in its direct vicinity are the Congress Hall and the Wittelsbacher Park . the reinforced concrete building was planed by the Augsburg architects "Brockel and Smith". In 1972 it was opened as Europe's largest hotel building. By the locals it's affectionately called Corncob tower. The Tower has architectural similarity with the twin towers of Marina City in Chicago.
