➽ Die Steinerne Brücke ist neben dem Dom das bedeutendste Wahrzeichen der Stadt Regensburg . Mit dem Baubeginn 1135 ist sie die älteste erhaltene Brücke Deutschlands und gilt als ein Meisterwerk mittelalterlicher Baukunst. Seit 2010 wird die Brücke saniert. Die Sanierung sollte ursprünglich Ende 2014 abgeschlossen sein; inzwischen geht die Stadt von einer Fertigstellung im Jahr 2018 aus. Sie wurde am 10. Juni 2018 im Rahmen des UNESCO Welterbetags eröffnet. Hier eine Aufnahme aus 2012, die Sanierungsarbeiten waren im hinteren, hier nicht sichtbaren Teil, im Gange. With the start of construction in 1135, it is the oldest surviving bridge in Germany and is considered a masterpiece of medieval architecture. Since 2010, the bridge is being redeveloped. The redevelopment was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014. Meanwhile, the city expects completion in 2018. It was opened on June 10, 2018 as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Day. Here a shot from 2012, the renovation work was in progress in the back part, not visible here. ➽ ♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ----- für alle, die was anderes erwartet hatten, oder es nicht kennen - das "Donaulied" dürft ihr euch selber suchen! (◕‿-)

➽ Normalerweise sind die bunten Vorhängeschlösser (PiP) , mit denen sich Paare Liebe und Treue schwören, der Hingucker, aber nun wird der Eiserne Steg ein Garten! Aktivisten der Initiative Transition Town Regensburg hängen über 200 Blumentöpfe an das Brückengeländer. Blumen, aber auch viele Kräuter und Nutzpflanzen wie Basilikum, Tomaten und Kartoffeln werden – eingepflanzt in alte Tetrapaks oder leere Bierfässchen – am Brückengeländer befestigt. Zum Teil hatten die Aktivisten die Pflanzen selbst gezogen, andere wurden von verschiedenen Gärtnereien und Baumärkten gespendet. Activists of the Transition Town initiative Regensburg hang over 200 flower pots on the parapet. Flowers, but also many herbs and crops such as basil, tomatoes and potatoes - planted in empty beer kegs or old Tetra Packs - are attached to the bridge railing.
