Sometimes we just want to escape the world. Get away from this dreadful Pandemic, away from unnatural weather cycles, politics, away from football even, so it was good for me to see a very rare night of stars. I am here in North Lancashire only a few metres from our rented holiday cottage at 30 minutes past midnight looking south east with the lights of Kirby Lonsdale on the horizon. Its still quite light even though there is almost no moon at all. I was looking for the Milky Way and there is just a hint right of centre here with the other two stripes being just wispy clouds.
